Royal jelly is the primary food bees produce to develop larvae in the beehive. Royal jelly is a substance that bees manufacture; it is not a plant product. Royal jelly is secreted from special glands in the bees head. This product is not produced in abundance; therefore it is extensive and labour intensive for beekeepers to harvest.
